The Center for Public Health and Justice

People that know me know that I am passionate about the place where I was born, the Mississippi Delta. So, it was only fitting that I start a non-profit organization that focuses on the public health and safety needs of the communities in the area. I am pleased to announce that our 501(c)(3) status was approved and we are soon partnering with other stakeholders in the area to address the disproportionate rate of suspensions and expulsions of children of color in the region.

Shirley Chisholm said, “You don’t make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering, and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas.” It’s time to get off the sidelines. I hope you’ll sign up at for future updates on our progress. Thanks!
